WHich bolts for the FSPP headers?

Hi,

I just recieved my headers from Mike. They look great. Where should I get the bolts to attach it? The old bolts are very rusty. What about a gasket? Can I use the same one?

Should I just get the normal gasket and bolt set for a 68 200ci engine?

I ordered the stage 8 locking from here. I think you want a new gasket but it is the same one. http://shop.mustangindex.com/stage8.html

You should have gotten some bolts with your header. Mike tapped the bolts inside one of the two end pipes on my order. I would use a exhaust manifold gasket and use copper sealant. Pepboys also has header bolts for Mike's headers, they look identical to the ones that came with mine.

No, I did not get any bolts. Do you have a pic you could show me so I know what to look for?

The stage 8 locking system sounds good but I can't spend $40 for bolts right now.

What size bolts am I looking for? My friend and I are going to Pep Boys in a few minutes.

The bolts should be inside one of the out pipes. But they are packed fairly loose and may have fallen out during shipping. Now comes the fun of digging thru all those peanuts.

They come that way from Pacemaker, but I have had a few guys that couldn't find them. Guess I better pull them out and tape them to the outside prior to shipping so you guys find them.

I dumped the peanuts out onto a blanket on the floor and dug through them already . I looked at the end of the two pipes also. I will look again but if I dont find them I will get some tomorrow. The headers look great! Thank you so much

We had a topic on here not long ago about a new style of header bolt. http://fordsix.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5827&highlight=header+bolts
It is a split design with an allen screw that goes down the middle to lock the bolt in place. The guy swears by them and calls me about once a month asking me to carry them on my website. At $3.50 per bolt, they're a bit pricey, but if they work well, I guess they might be worth it. I'm going to look into them a bit more and see if I can get some references form him. I also suggested that he donate a few sets to Mustang and Ford for a couple of their projects so they can check them out too.
