I am posting this becasue it may shed some light on a few things, and maybe someone can see if I got taken, or jipped, although I felt pretty good about the work... it may be something small or not? If it is something in the machine work then I have a warranty...

Jimbo,

rbohm has it. You are burning oil not water. I see it all the time. Bad rings and/or valve guides.... never does look blue to me - always white.... where do you guys get blue? "Blue - ish".....mmm, maybe....

that happened to me BEFORE my engine work...

you sit at an intersection and when you start again...cloud...

it was oil blow by...I had a bad head gasket between 5/6 and was fouling plugs...could you have gotten the head gasket on backwards (no offense)

I spoke with the machinist this morning and he said expect a little for a while until the rings seat... they ARE Molly rings... he said it should taper off in the first 200 miles, if it does not then I have trouble, and to let him know, but not to worry for now, he also said it would be a good idea to take it out for some serious driving, he said there is nothing wrong with putting 150 or so on it on a Sunday morning or such, just gets things together faster, he said drive it like normal, don't baby it, and get out there on the road.... enjoy, and if the smells and smoke persist past 500 miles then call him... ha also wants me to bring it by the shop soon!

Just FYI, but I really like him, and it was fun getting to do this, I just need to relax and tune it, and drive it.... LOL

I am still waiting to get the water pump in and get it running again, but I have been sick and such with the cold weather and the long hours at work. Hopefully I can get some time to work on it tomorrow, I have Friday off, so I can play all day!

I think I will install the cooling system, and get it warmed up and start playing with the carb and leaks and follow the above advice!
