Hi,
First car that i have ever worked on so please bear with me. Been trying to troubleshoot wifes
mustang without any progress. First off car is a 66 with stright 6. I went to start it friday and
it started but died as soon as i took foot off accelerator. Tried to start, turns over fine but
wont fire up, I did notice smoke coming from starter solenoid. Replaced it as well as all
battery cables and starter cables. Still nothing. So i take air cleaner off and pull accel linkage
and I have nice stream coming into carb. So I check for spark, take out #4 plug ground and
crank it got spark. So I go ahead and and change out the points and condensor, and spark
plugs, Still wont fire, and thats where I am at. any suggestions?

Thanks,
Ryan

carb is flooding out, squeeze off fuel line, spray hot start down the carb, start it ( it should start ) then you can stop squeezing the fuel line, it should fill up the bowl, and if it keeps on filling and floods out the motor, you ither got a sunk float, or a sticky needle and seat, carb probably needs rebuilt

thanks, was a peice of something in the needle seat area and you were right it was flooding out, kinda hard to tell with one person had a friend came over and able to see it right away with one person running the controls and the other looking at stuff.
