would it be louder and sound better?

I am currently running a flowmaster dual exhaust system on my 200ci with small tips, i was wondering if i cut off the tips at the catalytic converter if it would sound better/deeper.louder. i just dont want to do it and have it sound bad. thanks in advance!

I would recommend cutting the exhasut pipe just after the manifold outlet...that would be real loud...also save wear and tear on the mufflers...
