None really, but if your going to use a 250 even a crossflow, you wont get a lot of power beyond 6000 even with a quite radical engine, SO, hydraulics will work and save a lot of expense. The stock rocker arms are OK when new, we down here have iron fulcrums for the rockers, not alloy. Also the crossflows need fairly stout valve springs due to the valve train mass, and they only have a small base circle on the camshaft, some guys get lobe wiping if the pre-run lubrication of the cam is inadequate, this would be worse with a solid lifter cam. As another indiction, Ive had Windsor V8s to run to over 6500 on hydraulics without any fancy works.What’s the benefit of Hydraulic for a Strip application?
