Posted this in an old post so I'll try again here. The rocker pedestals on the shaft I have are all the same size bolt holes. Shouldn't the one to the rear be larger?
Bubba is correct where the rear pedestal bolt is necked down for oil flow to the rocker shaft.
Also make sure the front pedestal has the cap on top type for excess rocker shaft oiling can be discharged to the head via the lifter area & then to lubricate the distributor gears via a hole drilled in the block between the first & second lifters onto the dizzy gear area.
The distributor gear size is a design flaw in all ford engines before the modular engines.

I've picked up a couple of spare adjustable rocker sets.
I don't recall getting that cover plate with any of them.
Can they still be had? Anyone got any spares?
