170 cu.in carb choices

I read out of the ford six performance handbook a lot, yet i still have questions.

I'm wondering what my choices are for my 170 cubic inch inline six are. In the book, it says that a mild performance increase on a 170 can be had by using an autolite one barrel 1100 from a 200 cubic inch engine. It says that i would go from 130 CFM to 150 CFM. My major concern is for an electrical choke. I want to get a new DUI distributor with an electric choke, however i'm worried that this isn't possible on a one barrel carb. I'am under the impression that a two barrel carb would more likely have the ability to use an electrical choke, so with that said, i'd want to get that two barrel, but is it even possible for me to utilize a two barrel carb on my 170 ? is that over kill times ten or what ? Is it possible for my existing carb to work with the DUI distributor and it's compatibility for an electric choke ?

Right now my things to do are as so:
get new battery/box. wire it via trunk-
adjust ride hight -
duct cool air via snorkel-
replace gen with an alt-
get DUI dis.-
hook up electric choke to carb/ or get new carb that will allow -
check all oil seals, repaint oil pan - start using synthetic oil that's light-
install 2" duel exhaust system-
upgrade 13" ties-
fix all dents, repaint-
replace all seals for windows, trunk, doors, etc -
fix door locks, and windows -
replace "Betsy Babe" sticker on dash with professional lettering-

heh :D

i figure i'll get all of this done in about 5 months. Right now the car drives, i just got a new gas tank, and gave it a tune up and gave the rust some love. I'll have to take pictures :D

wow, i just found this carb at classic inliunes for $400.00, it's a one barrel 200CFM carb, has auto choke (i assume that's the eclectic choke i want) brand new, nice as all hell, and right in my spending range.

NOW, do you all think that a 200 CFM one barrel carb is overkill for a 170 ? i think this carb and the DUI should work nice together.

I have two Mavericks with 170's. Both now have Holly/Webber 5200's form Langdons stovebolt with a one to two barrell adapter. The whole package for each ran about $100. It works fine. The smaller primary on the webber give better throttle response and and better MPG. The secondary adds a good kick with more cfm's. Simple inexpensive and adds a nice improvement.

Whoaaaa!!! im sorry that i didn't catch this sooner, but my computer was goin wacko and you probably got everything figured out, but i thought there was a considerable difference between autochoke and electric choke. like the electric measures air temp and electricly turns the choke down while the "thermometer" within the autochoke will use air temp/pressure to turn the choke down and off?
correct me if i am wrong please
