I must started rebuilding my 1982 Holley 1946 carb and was wondering if anyone has any tips or hints before I finish it up. I am rebuilding it due to a slight hesitation and the fact that it sat for awhile before I got it (it only has 28k on it) Thanks

Read the directions over and over. Don't soak the parts that they warn you against. Look at all the parts on the diagram, and try to get the picture as clearly in your head as possible. You are supposed to dismantle it in order, then put it back together in opposite order. Also, if it comes with the little ruler, use it to measure the adjustments needed. It will be easy, and you will have a lot of fun doing it. Don't force anything, either, double and triple check anything you think you are having to force, so you don't need to buy another kit for one broken piece. Have fun!

Got a digital camera? Take shots of the carb before any work plus during disassembly if you have time. Those pics may turn out pretty important as the pics with rebuild kit manuals usually are very tiny and hard to read.

It is back together and it runs, it even idles better! I did take pictures just in case. This was my first Ford carb, I have done many quadrajets. I will test drive it as soon as I install the new waterpump (boy was that a pain to get out)
