From reading this thread, it seems to me that either an aluminum head swap or a modified log head would get you where you want to go... especially if you go with forced induction.

if you are interested in the turbo setup, Tyler and Jake have been building a turbo engine for the 68 stang. From what I understand, he is following Will and Kelly's build a few revisions ago... Look under the turbo forum for mod log turbo build.

Even though peak HP numbers seem low with some of the builds that you read about here, the torque numbers are amazing...

hope this helps, my two cents say keep the six, you can get plenty of power, bottom end is bulletproof, and with the new aluminum head, weight is reduced.
