250 engine

Is there a header available to use with a 250 ci in a 68 Mustang? I have a choice of a 250 or a 200 on a previous thread awhile back I asked which everyone would use and the 250 seems to be the choice.

The down side that I know of:

1. Finding engine mounts. 66mustang in Holland sell customs that will lower the engine or engine mounts from a early 70's model Maverick.

2. Roller timing set not availabe. Use a 70 model timing--before timing was retarded for emissions.

3. Low mount starter interfers with header. This one I don't have an answer for at this time. Looking for a dual out header for a true dual application.

I found a web page by Mustang Six that listed what was involved in swapping a 250 into his 66 but it is no longer available.

Having a SBF bell housing is a definate advantage on transmission and clutch choices.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Are you talking about this one?

That motor mount situation is definately a bugger, I tried to use '67 motor/frame mounts in my '67 Mustang and I got the motor to sit down between them but could not get my transmission up high enough to get the bolt holes to line up (C4 auto).

FYI, 250 mounts for Mavericks and Comets were the same from '71-'77
