250 Oz head in a 65-66 mustang Convertible?

8)

If you are worried about clearance you could get a carb bonnet from Turbo city and run a cold air hose or even polished metal tube over and pickup from low in engine compartment of drivers side. Since exhaust is on passenger you should get alot cooler air.

Just get a nice chrome export brace; and chuck the tubular braces. Worked for me on my '66 convertible. Pics upon request, or check out the FSP Parking Lot in another day or so.

You mean like this bigred?

That is the York unit installed by many dealers and after-market shops in the old days. It must weigh at least 30 lbs. :( It is now out, soon to be replaced by a Sanden unit. 8) I had hoped to install the Vintage Air unit: http://www.vintageair.com/download/pdf_singles/42.pdf ($1095) before hitting the road on the 24th, but there won't be time to account for Mr. Murphy's Law. :(
Looks like my wife and I will have to drive to New Orleans and the Outer Banks with the top down. 8)

I think I may have found a filter solution. KN has a 7" cleaner for 2 and 4V carbs. It has more then enough filter area for my needs and is only 3" tall (total height). That may work, if not, I found a great website for carb bonnets.

I rather use the MPG Head Service setup than TCP. It is basically the same except cheaper. Either that or a export brace and monte carlo bar will do the trick.

By the visual measuraments I did on my car and the picture of your bracing, you would need an air cleaner of the same diameter as the carb. Anymore and you have interference.

TCP may be what I do eventually, but I may go with a supercharger carb bonnet and make a cold air induction for the 2V. That may work.
