2V carbs and chronic hood clearance problems

been considering the clearance issue for a holley weber 5200 in a 66 stang, this is a great post with lots of different options. Is this worth a sticky to keep at the top of the forum, and others keep adding ideas?

We already have a Holley Weber Sticky. The trick is to consolidate the info, so we only have to look in one place for the info.

yep, agreed. As a newbie, with a stock setup, I'm trying to consolidate the notes from one post to another, and then try to apply some judgement. Sounds great in theory, but my poor tired mind has a terribly short memory, and this stuff is new to me. Of course what I'd like is a fool proof manual, but what fun would that be?

by the way, since I see you are running the 5200 in a stang vert (me too), which adaptor did you choose?

My adapter is the TransAdapt unit, which I bought from another member of the Forum. I think it's the one from Stovebolt. In any case, it's hard to beat their prices.

As far a linkages, I'd love to see if the DGV (Carter) can be adapted to the Z-bar linkage easier than the DFV (Holley). The DGV's primary side would be closer to the linkage, and its counterclockwise rotation should allow direct connction to the stock linkage. I made mine work, although the angle is a little steep. If I get my hands on another lnk, I should be able to get it to work better.
