2V Head

Hi guys. I'm hoping you can help me out here. I posted a while back, but thought I'd get an update

After 2 years I finally picked up my Falcon XP Coupe from storage. It has a 200 cu in "Super Pursuit" engine in it, which apparantly has be overhauled, but never run in.

Anyway in the boot is a brand new looking head and manifold, which I'm told is a 2V combo.

Is the head and manifold worth anything or should I use it as a boat anchor along with the engine?

KEEP IT!

i mean... uhh....
no, it's not worth the effor it'll take to lift it out of your trunk....
tell ya what, i'll pay ya shipping to the US, and then i'll melt it down... i need some scrap metal anyways...

so, is it a deal?

the 2V head has gotten pretty rare in recent years, last one i saw sell on eBay was something like $800US

Hmmm, well maybe I'll go down to the shed and take a picture of it, to be sure I'm not inadvertantly telling you fibs.

Only two years in storage? My wagon's been parked up since 2000!

Yes, the head's very saleable. Contact AzCoupe here on the board if you want a no-fuss sale straight up. Evan, you don't need a spare! :stick:

OK asa67_stang, I took the thing out of the boot and it looks like it's a refurb jobbie.

The casting number is this one from the sticky you linked to:

ARDIDE 6049 -AC is the preferable 250 2V head. It made apperance in limited 170 hp XA's and XB's. Only available with tube headers, it's detachable intake manifold is often 72DA 9425-AAbut does have a 1974 casting number as well. This differed to the 188 and 221 2-bbl Argentine ME and SP heads used from 1972 to late 1995

Well you are probably going to think I'm a barbarian, but the truth is I have already built (as in I have done the work myself) a 302 mexican, fuel injected it and throwing that into the engine bay with a C10 behind it.

I was not joking about the head having any worth. I have no need for it and if it wasn't worth the hassle it would go in the bin along with the borg warner trannies and such.

The coupe? Well what can I say except never move a car without first checking the radius rods are installed. I have had to go and find another LCA, get it powder coated and swap in the balljoint and nolathane bush.

It is about to get an EB column shift, an EA rack and pinion, XF front brakes, a VF40 on the front and VF44 on the rear drums = QLD Transport are a bit hot on not spearing yourself on columns and head butting non laminated windscreens that are to be kept clean with two speed wipers. I have new carpets, new headliner, leather seats to go in.

So I'm hoping to get the old girl on the road by June, wear a black T shirt with a packet of Marboroughs curled up in the sleeve, even though I don't smoke, and rattle some windows with the exhaust.

8) i will take it off your hands, let me know how much you want for the head, plus shipping to the US, zip 22835.

Looks like you could start a bidding war on here with that set up.
I know I would like to get my hands on it!!
