4 main 200 or 170 from the outside?

From what I can find they both have C3DE or C4DE casting # on the block. How would you know whether it was a 4 main 170 or 4 main 200? Thanks for any info.

I have a 200 4 bolt main 200 ci, they were built 1962-1964. C4DE is a 64 Falcon motor, if your VIN is visible please tell us the first letter in it? Probably a "U" which is a 170 and "S" for the 144 CI engine, and "T" for the 200.

Check your VIN.

Wanted to know for shopping purposes, and wouldn't mind finding a 4 main 200 for cross breeding, but gotta be able to tell from outside. Thank you for the info

Going to the "small six identification" article at the Classic Inlines site, there are no special marks for the 4 main 200 ?????????
