ok so i have a 1956 ford 223 inline six and im trying to put a c4 auto tranny behind it. does anyone know if a bell housing from a 65' / 66' mustangmike 200 inline six will bolt up to my motor?? or does anyone have any pix of a mustang inline six bell housing so i can see the bolt pattern? please help if you can.. thanks for your time

yes ive seen that adaper kit before. i called the guy but he told me that it will not work for the inline six motor... witch confused me because everyone is telling me that a ford y block and my early inlne six have the same bell housing bolt pattern, and thats what i told the guy but he said no it will not work.... and i wish it did but thanks for the help

That Kit wont fit the 223 only the Y Blocks. If you want to have a kit built you can try this site they are making new kits using Ford and GM overdrive's all the time.

Also the 1964 Big Ford Cars that came with an Auto trans used a C4 (first year of production) so if you can find one of these bells any year C4 would bolt up (a C5 should also work). You should also be able to buy a new Flex plate still. On the 223 bells for the FordOMatics (1954 and up) with slight mods you can bolt any CruseOMatic or a later FMX to the bell.
