My 65 170 has a auto choke. And the heat tube from manifold is only connected by a clamped on with a cast iron hold weight and a clamp. Works fine. No hole in the manifold.

Welcome to the Ford Six forums 2doorfalcon, yes sounds like you have one of the Auto Coke Repair Kits installed on your Falcon and yes they do work quite good. There should be a hole for the hot air choke stove in any of the stock Ford made cast iron exhaust manifolds they can be a bit hard to find though, if you have aftermarket headers than its one of only a few ways to be able to do the hook up.
