63 falcon need info point gap ,dwell ,spark plugs.timming

just bought me this old falcon and know nothing about this motor ,has the 170 and im trying to get her going ,was wondering if some one knows the point gap along with the dwell,and the gap for the spark plugs and were the timing should be set.thaks for your help

according to a chart I have for plugs the gap should be .035" for a stock gap. As for the other things I'm not really sure, sorry.

Dwell, 37-42, point gap .025", plug gap .032"-.036", timing 6 degrees stick, 12 auto trans.
Yes a pertronix I is preferred over the points. Glad to help.

on the Pertronix. As far as I could tell, it worked just as well as any other non-racing ignition system. 8) No more points to gap. Fire .052" plug gap through oil. Does need a good set of plug wires, or it will crossfire all over the place.
