Good morn' my 200 block is dated 1966 (65 mustang) the fuel pump however is the canister filter type. Could this be ? When I R&R should I use the non-filter pump for 66's ?
Greetings Thor, personally I like those pumps. I have one on my 66’ FE. With most these carbs needing low pressure it should be fine. The only problem I had was that the canister had been over tightened to the point the sealing surface of the canister was no longer perpendicular to the canister sides and was no longer sealing (rubber gasket). I just took my time and straightened it. It’s been fine ever since.
thanks, the inlet nipple is not secure to the pump, needs R&R. If in the future I go with a 2 barrel, will it require more pressure than this pump will produce?
I'm using this style of pump on my 300 w/ a 2100 2bbl & have no problems with fuel pressure. I really like this style, as it has the huge filter & is really easy to replace. Not only that, but all 3 of my vehicles now use the same pump & filter, making it easy to keep extras on stock.
These pumps are rebuildable, but I haven't found anyone who makes a rebuild kit. Does anyone know where you can get one?
Edwin
The part # that I can find for this pump is C3DZ-9350A, even though this particular pump was off of a '65 (I dought the # really changed). Does this # sound the same over there in OZ? I'm not in any real hurry to rebuild this particular pump as its just an extra (used) that I've got on hand. Thanks.
Edwin
