78-79 200ci questions

1) Does anyone know if the 78-79 200ci has a 7 bearing main?
2) will it fit in a 67 mustang with out any mods?

yes to # 1 and yes to #2 but with minor changes. the 200 started being built with 7 mains IICRC in 65. the only other difference would be the oil pan, oil pan pick up, and the carb bore. the 66 is a 1.5" carb bore vs 1.75" for the later model. just use the pan and pick up from the 66.and the carb from the 78/79.

Howdy Paul:

Another concern will be the pulley system at the from of the engines. The '67 will have a different water pump and the pulley system. The later engines have a longer water pump and pulley system, making the overall engine length longer. The early pump and pulley system can be swapped to the later engines if you need the clearance.
