AC swap...

well I was pulling a duraspark off the only inline in the local yard tuesday and noticed the nice complete and still charged AC in the 82 tbird I was taking parts off of. It has a piston style pump (york?) I know this is a fox chassis but I was wondering how tough it would be to adapt to my car? I know I would prob need some custom hoses made up for it bout would it be that tough of a job? I really would like some AC one of these days. I do have a rortary pump (AL inline style pump) fmro a late model I was also thinking of using (space issues) so if I was to do a custom AC setup where would you source parts from?

The condenser, compressor, dryer (or accumulator), and hoses are the easy part. All of that can be easily made, borrowed, or adapted from just about anything. The tough part is finding a unit to mount inside the car, house the evaporator / heater core, blower motor, etc. and being able to control it and plumb cool and warm air to you. There were some "under dash" units commonly installed into older Fords. Otherwise if you have the $$$ and want a cleaner installation, give someone like Vintage Air a call.
