well, i splurged. the head and a purty valve cover for it are now ordered.

i held off on ordering the intake so i could decide if a 2v is going to be enough or if i need to bump it up to a 390 cfm holley. i'm going to have about 9.5:1 compression, clifford header, and a 264/264 cam to go with the ci head.

i really doubt the little 2v carb i have sitting on my shelf is gonna be enough, but i thought that a holley 2300 might be. i'd really like to run the 390 4v if it'll work.... for no reason other than liking the look of it.

whattyathink?

I'd go with the 390 Holley if it was me. I'm running the 600 Holley on my street/strip (mostly strip) car and I've had almost no problems with it once I worked out a few bugs.

8) get the 4bbl intake anyway as it gives you maximum flexibility. mike does sell a 2v to 4v adapter, two of them in fact. that way you can start with a 2bbl carb, and go to a 4bbl carb if you like, or not. however i agree with doug, go for the 390 holley.

Is that 264 dual pattern a clifford or CI cam and what L/S, there is quite some difference between the two even though the advertized is the same, you will get alot more out of the head with the CI cam, the clifford is built mostly for the log head and works OK, but I would want a little more cam in the CI cam for the new AL head. Want a little throaty sound 110L/S, want a smooth idle 112 L/S.

i went with the ci 264/274 with a 110* lobe center

you said you had a lot of power before you put your supercharger on. i'm hoping i have no problem turning 33's with 4.10's

I went through some of your posts and BCbroncos is the only one that handles a power steering bracket set up for the bronco that I know of, I use it and like it, you will have to get a two row water pump pulley, because you can't go directly from a two row dampner to the power steering with out rubbing on the bottom of water pump pulley.

that sucks about the water pump pulley. i was thinking it looked tight there but was hoping i could use the second groove i already had on my crank pulley.

i saw that bracket on bcbroncos. i keep looking at the pic of the bracket and then looking at the front of my engine trying to picture it sitting there. i guess i'll just have to get the setup from them. i just got a blank dash from them and a 23 gallon fuel tank with the low pressure fuel pump installed. they are nice people on the phone.

i better get a christmas card from them this year. shit, i should get one from ci as well.

just a quick update. i'm heading out of the country for a month so i dropped everything off at a machine shop here in huntsville and they are going to do the build for me. between work, training mma, traveling, and finishing up a drag car, i have no free time and want to get this engine in and running this winter. when i get back i'll focus my attention on the painless wiring harness and finishing up the new dash. it'll be nice to be able to just drop the engine in and fire it up. the shop has an engine dyno so they're going to get it tuned before it goes in.

I'm sure this is a little too late, but I used a PS bracket from a 65 Mustang and it works perfect. I have it running straight off the double pully balancer and while it is clearing now, I haven't fired the engine. Used a stock 76 Bronco PS pump and plenty of clearance with the DSII dizzy.

not too late at all. i still haven't worked out my power steering setup. i haven't had time to scratch my own arse lately so i have a lot left to do.
