I just put rebuild kit for the 1100 in my 68 200ci L6 in my 1960 Comet. She seams to run much better now, but during the process I noticed that my choke cover was cracked and warped plus the choke base looks possibly warped as well. For now I just disabled the choke. I was considering finding the parts to replace it, but as cheap as a fully rebuilt carb is I'm thinking I might as well just upgrade the whole carb. I wouldn't mind a little more umph but mostly I'm just looking for a smooth good running primarily stock engine. I've been doing a lot of poking around on the forums trying to decide which way I want to go.
All that said for not too much difference in price I can pick up an 1101, which from what I understand should pretty much just bolt right up, or I could get a carb adapter and put a 2 barrel on it. On a basically stock motor am I wasting my time with the 2 barrel? The 1101 from a 250 already flows more than the stock carb. The 2 barrel might be too much carb. Any thoughts or input is appreciated.
If it matters at all it's a 68 200ci engine with a pertronix coil and ignition module, but otherwise completely stock.
Oh, and hello, this is my first post even though I've been trolling around here since 2004. This is the 1 time out of 100 that I couldn't just find all my answers by digging around in old posts.
