Well, as you can tell, I took the summer off from working on the Mustang. We spend as much time as we could up in Strawberry and had a blast.
However, I've been itching to get the car running again and it is finally cool enough to get back to work.
I did get my Aussie head rebuilt and it is ready to drop on to a fresh short block.

At this point, I've got most of the accessories removed from the engine/engine bay. Tomorrow, a buddy is coming over and we will pull the 200 out of the Mustang.
I've got a bunch of new decisions to make about the short block, as well as some decisions regarding the head and intake.
I haven't decided on a machine shop yet, so recommendations would be helpful. I'm in Gilbert, AZ. While I've used Basko in the past, and really like their work, I feel like I'm paying for more than I'm getting so I'd like to try someplace else.
I'll definitely have the block cleaned and components balanced. I'll bore as little as possible - I'm not going for a huge hp improvement as this will be a daily driver. I'm expecting to get plenty of performance improvements just from putting on the Aussie head and 2bbl carb.
Looking forward to getting "re-engaged" here on this website.
