what size turbo would i need for a stock 250

with turbo's or anything really, it's what do you want out of it ?

read up on turbo maps... they are a great reference. they'll tell you where your power will come in and where it will fall off. there is an aussie web page that really simpifies this for you. if i can dig it up i'll post the link.

Generally speaking a TO4B or a TO4E ut you will need to get a correct A/R ratio for it to work properly.

Yep. An A/R in the high 50's low 60's will be good. One that is .80 or .40 would not be.

Whats A/R. i need somthing small and compact so it wont rub against the shock tower in my maverick. i dont need somthing hipo since i have a stock engine

For a stock 250 I would just grab a turbo from a T-bird Turbo Coupe. Yeah, it's too small to make much boost, and it will run out of breath early, but an otherwise stock 250 is all done at 4200 rpm anyway. The little turbo will spool up fast with little lag and will easily give you 6-8 psi. That's enough to add 50-60 hp without risking the engine at all.
