building a new motor.

tommy isn't the only one with a new turbo build in the works....

in the shop right now...

a stock bore D8 block with a fresh hone
crank turned 10/10
comp 252H cam
E0 head modded for port injection (needs a little work still)
.57 trim T4/t3 with a .63 hot side (true turbonetics turbo)
38mm tial wastegate.
one of miks rocker covers
1.6R roller rockers from mike
2.3L dizzy modded for a 200
88turbocoupe powersteering pump (uses a remote res. and will bolt on a stock bracket)

still to do....

-get bearings/rings for motor
-finish head and have it rebuilt (getting oversize valves from mike)
-build a new tubular header (going split inlet to try and help low end and maybe if I step to a different turbo/turbine down the road)
-get some fuel injection computer of some sort hooked up to it.
-get a 200 balancer rebuilt with a 4.0L OHC v6 pulley sleeve
-build accessory brackets (modern AC comressor, PS pump, GM alternator) and convert to serp belts.
-figure out a new flywheel/flexplate. (looking at having a fidanza billet one made)

I might post up some pics tomorrow of the progress (motor is kinda mocked up right now)

this is going to be th emotor I shoot for 300hp with and I think I will have a chance with a better flowing head than my C5 head and a bigger cam than a stock one. oh and a bigger turbo will help.

I'll be lucky if I can even take my car there on the old setup. still need to get the rings/bearings, have the head rebuilt, order up the MS and get it built and running....LOTS of work.

but I might get a new header on the car and the bigger turbo and see how it does on the blowthru.

What did Ford change on the E0 head? Is it more desireable than say a D8 head?
Our local self-service Junkyard has 4ea. 200 sixes in stock. One from the 60's, the others from the 80's. I was thinking of picking up a spare.

If you need any parts for your build, let me know. Lots of CFI junk in that yard. -Doug

I just happened to have two E0 heads.

but they also have biggest valves and hardened seats..

they also are what I had laying around.

paid $75 for one motor and the other was free (both fully dressed PS and AC cars)
