Now that i have my car running good with the later ported head and 2 carbs i want to purchase a cam. I was looking at running a 264/274 split duration cam. I was wondering would a single 264 cam get me just as much power as the split cam? I want to get as much power without going to a wild of a cam. i have decided to go with the 110 lobe center, even though im running an auto tranny. The tranny is beefed up and plus i want that lopey sound. tell me what you guys think.

I am going with that cam with the dual pattern---from what I have heard it is a great cam. I am wanting to use the holley 500cfm two barrel and some seem to think that it is too much. The actual flow is somewhat less however, around 390 I think, what the heck I'll try it. I have the old 2.77 and if it does run right I probably won't have it long. 8)

darwin, i have a good 3.03 i just took out, if you decide not to do the T5 i can maybe send it to you for the postage and the cost of a 12-pack. got no shifter, as i cut the handle off to modify onto my short-throw for that vintage look.

Sounds like a good deal thinman, but I have absolutely no room in my garage right now, and my wife is getting that look of throwing me out in it with the rest of my scrap metal. Still? what would it cost to have that thing shipped from Maine to one of the lower 48, can't be much it's all down hill? And beer hasn't gone up like the price of gas has it?
