What is the biggest cam a Aussie 2v can take before it runs out of breathe so to speak? And a big log Domestic too if anyone knows?

The cam on ebay is appears to be a 260 degree. You can go to Comp Cams' website and verify. I just put one in mine with a fresh rebuild. I like the way it runs except I haven't got it to idle where I want it yet. Not real bad, just not as smooth as stock. Some others on the forum say theirs will idle as good as the stock cam.

This is probably not the "biggest" cam you could put in this engine, but for an everyday driver this is a nice cam.

65 200 I-6
Comp 260 cam
'80 head 54cc's
.007 deck
DSII distributor with Blaster Coil
Holley/Weber 2v carb
stock exhaust (for now)

With a decent fuel curve and two barrel carb, a low 280's degree cam will run happily on a 2V. A late model 'log" will probably start to wheeze around 260°.

Regards, Adam.

Remeber the cubic inch will play a little with the rpm range of one cam. the 260 comp cam will have a dead smooth idle in a 250 and pull hard from 1000 to wherever the intake runs out of air.
But on a 170 it might even have a tiny lope and not pull better than stock till 1500 rpm .

my comp cam 260 idles very smoothly in my 200. i've very happy with it.

bama, keep working on the idle, and you'll find it runs very smooth.
