I have a 1964 Futura convertible with a 1978 250ci. I thought about converting the 1v carb to a 2v carb, but I think I’ll have clearance problems. I already did some lowering of the mounts for clearance. Figuring I have to stay with a 1v, can someone give me information on the best performing (economy is not an issue) carb(s) that will help performance on the 250?

Also if someone has had success getting a 2v on a 250 in a ’64 Falcon, I would really be interested in how you did it.

as far as i know a carter rbs or carter yf would be the best choice. they are both stupid simple and run very well. the rbs i like a little better because i had it on my 66 stang before switching to a 2bbl and it ran good it was simple to rebuild also because it was a one piece casting so it wouldnt leak and the fuel bowl was remote and everything was inside of it.
