I order a single bbl carb from mustang unlimited which had the same description as the new 1100 from pony carb but now in giving a second thought of getting a 2 bbl instead. what would be better? i was looking at stovebolt which sells a Holley Weber Carb for $65. any suggestion?
I have a 170 stock with dsII

I have not messed with a 2bbl myself but from reading here it appears that there is always some modifications needed to linkage. There are hood clearance and air cleaner issues that need to be addressed. It also appears that most guys end up having to change jets and to other tweaks to get them running right. If all of that is within your abilities then go for it. If you need a stock looking bolt on stick with the 1100.

I bought a new HW from Stovebolt for $85. The new ones weren't on the website, I asked. Just tweaked the idle mixture, the A/F ratio was close enough.
According to the dyno results just about any other carb will give you more peak horsepower but I was looking for improved drivability and economy.

For an easy plug and play carb, the Pony carb is touted as "the" one! It must be something at $400 and still considered for mpg and drivability.
Check out classicinlines.com for some dyno numbers and comaprisons on all these carbs.

From what I understand about the Holley 5200, jets are hard to come bye. I bought the Carter Weber because it uses Weber Jets, Emulsion tubes, ect. For $85.00 the carbs look great.
