Carburetor floods: pressure regulator recommendation?

That sounds exactly like what I want to do to mine, put an overdrive in it an get some extra gears in between in the process. I'll check out the AX 15 as well.

Getting back to what this thread was when it started...
I bought a Holley regulator and a gauge locally and installed them today. It took a while to get the bracket made, but apart from not yet having a finish, I'm rather pleased with how it mounted up using the holes for the engine lift bracket in front of the distributor.
I warmed it up by taking it for a drive, then shut it off and waited the time it takes to run in the store and get a six-pack and some pickled herring... and it fired right up... and didn't flood. It did it the second time, too. It stalled twice, and I wonder if that was because it was set at only 2 pounds. I bumped it up to 3 1/2, and will give it a try.

So far, so good.
I ended up buying a $15 Chinese gauge and a plug (the good gauges were pretty expensive locally). I'll pull the gauge and install the plug once I'm satisfied with the install, and avoid the liability of having it on the vehicle.
