Hey guys, newby here.
I want to replace the Carter YF that came with the Mustang 200ci six that is now in my 62 Econoline. At the very least I want to rebuild it. My question is, did the YF come in different bore sizes? I see it was used on motors as big as 300ci. is the 300ci version different from the 200ci version?
I want to stick with the Carter because it seems so much simpler than the Autolite, or Weber-Carter for Motorcraft carbs I also have sitting on my shelf here for the same engine family.
The current carb seems to run well, but it idles rough and seems to miss-fire a little while driving.
One last thing, I know the distibutor has mech and vacuum advance, but I have no idea what it cameout of. Does anyone have a good part number for a basic vacuum advance canaster? Or at least an application? It' got to be small. The Mustang 2 line advance can that was on this motor has limited adjustment before it hits the doghouse on this van.
