Classic Inlines Timing Set Jpp 200 DRC Issue

On my latest build The back of the cam timing sprocket when tightened is rubbing on the cam retainer plate. I have the above noted timing set I believe because I bought the double roller from Mike last year and I paid the same $99. (Mike's fighting inflation) The camshaft sprocket is recessed in the back approximately 100 thousands more then a stock sprocket. Has anyone else run into this issue? Here's the info about the timing set. There isn't suppose to be any need for modifications. I am not using a oil slinger to my knowledge. Thanks Denny

These dual roller chain sets feature billet gears with hardened teeth. The crank gear has nine key ways for adjusting cam timing in 2, 4, and 6 degree increments (advance or retard). They offer greater strength and reduced chain stretch over stock chains to maintain accurate cam timing, and offer less resistance which aids in decreasing oil temperatures and increasing HP. They require no modifications to install and will fit under the existing stock timing chain cover without any clearance issues.

Note: In some cases you may need to eliminate the oil slinger (looks like a big washer) for adequate clearance, but this is OK. The oil slinger was used to sling oil away from the crankshaft seal in an effort to reduce oil leaks, however the oil slinger is no longer needed due to improvements in gasket technology.

Do you have the spacer with the inside bevel toward cam journal, this behind the cam pin.,inplace.

None of that is ringing any bells or turning on any lights so I would have to say no. Does it come with the classicinlines timing set? Actually to answer you straightforward I have no such spacer.

You have nothing to keep the sprocket from clamping down on the retainer when you tighten down the bolt.

That is true, that's why I am trying to find out where I should have received the spacer and what it looks like.

Thanks Darrell, I do not have that spacer on my cam. Did it come with your cam? Thanks again Denny

The camshaft spacer dose not come with either a new or re ground cam, you would need to remove it from your old camshaft core or buy a new one.

Robert

Found one in less then a few minutes but then I need to know how to get that out of the old cam, any ideas??

Hear is another tip make sure that the oil galley cup plug is inplace, it is by the cam retainer ,once the sproket is inplace it is hard to see.
