i want to order my carb adapter tonight incase clifford takes a long time to ship. what do i measure, the spacer or the log?
i have a 66 mustang with a 200 what have most of ya'lls ended up being?

Clifford makes 4 different adapters. Holley and Webber top plates, and big or small log bottoms, depending on the year of your head.

When I ordered my Weber adapter, there were two different adapters available. The difference was in the bolt spacing on the intake (I think one is 2 3/4 and the other is 3 5/8). Just measure from bolt center to bolt center. It should be pretty obvious as to which one you have.

The difference between the two available bolt centers is far enough apart that you shouldn't confuse them.

so if i get the holley 2300 adapter from clifford the base is for the holley weber? so i'm getting 2 for the price of one? if so which carb is better? maybe i'll get both and test them out

Nope, the Holley-Webber is their Webber adapter. Different size from the Holley. They sell 4 adapters, 2 Holleys, and 2 Webbers. Both the Holley and Webber flavor is sold in both the 2 3/4" and the 3 5/8" intake bolt spacing flavors.

i thought the holley 2300 adapter was the holley weber adapter with another adapter on top of that. :?

One of the problems running the 2 bbl. Holleys on the adapter seems to be with Clifford's "new" two-piece stacked design (1V to Holley 5200, Holley 5200 to Holley 2300). I don't know how long ago they went to that design, but somewhere in my garage I know I have one of their older and shorter one piece (1V to Holley 2300) adapters.

Nathan, the adapter you posted is two pieces. The funnel part of the adapter has a 5200 top plate. On that plate is stacked another seperate plate for the 2300. It's bolted to the first piece. This allows you to use either unit. Make sense?

I know it's hard to tell by that picture but you can see the first small plate just under the top plate. Those four screw holes closest to the opening on the top plate allow you to fasten it to the bottom plate. The outer four holes allow you to fasten the Holley 2300 to it.

Clear?

that's what i thought.
the reason i'm asking is i want to get the adapter and have the option of either a weber or a holley 2300

so if i get the one for the holley it will be like getting 2 for the price of 1, right?

Not any more. I looked into this as well, and Clifford is no longer using their Billet aluminum machine shop to make these -- they've moved back to a cast shop. That means that both the Webber and Holley adapters will be one piece.

FYI.
