Coil Problem?

It seems as though I am having some difficulties with my MSD box, it works for a minute then shuts off, then I have to wait a good 5-10 minutes before it provides spark to the motor, I havnt yet replaced the coil is it poissible it is being overloaded or something? Thanks in advance,

I've heard that this can be common with an overheating Module. Module overheats & shuts down. Ten minutes later it's cooled off and works again and so it goes.

How's your mounting? I'd try to have it mounted away from engine heat as much as possible. Heat sinks have been used. Standoffs to space it up for airflow underneath. Wild guessing here.

Could also be a plain bad module?

the next time it dies, pour cold water over the coil and/or box (one at a time). If that helps it start right away, you'll know which unit gets too hot and shuts down. BTDT
