Could use some help

I am now considering putting some sort of a turbo on my truck.

It is a 67 240 hooked up to a T-18 for now, a SROD in the future.

It has been freshly rebuilt to stock specs and runs great.

I am in the process of putting an Offenhauser C intake manifold, efi exhaust manifolds and a Quadrajet from a 78 Chevy truck on it.

The plans for the future are to put together a Megasquirt system using a GM throttle body from a 350 on it.

So what kind of turbo could/should I use?

Also should it be draw or blow through?

I humbly await any help.

A Qjet on a 240??
Wow that's a lot of carb on a 240...I am not a six expert by any means but I have a lot of exp with Qjets.
Good Luck.

I think it will be okay as long as I am not into the 4 barrels much.

I will need to rejet and I thought that since the primaries are so small vs the secondaries I could get away with it.

The truck seems to be running okay for now.

240 with Q'jet will be great if you ensure the jets and metering rods and the linkage is blueprinted to open wide open as the GM'sters planned from birth. The bullpucky regarding Qjets is just unbelievable, so some facts:

1. A 4-bbl Q'jet was used on 1979 to 1982 231's and 4.1 Buick V6's and the turbo variants.

2. The Aussie Holden 253 V8 ran it from 1980 to 1984. The main jet is about 69 or 70.

3. 1968 230 and 69 to 70 250 Ohc Poncho's used 4M's in the TransAms got them too.

4. The power rating was only about 120 something on the 4-bbl 4.1 Buick before turbo, and well over 180 after turbo. On our 253's, they were 135 hp single exhast, 148 hp dual exhast with the 725 cfm Qjet.

5. It will be just fine on a 240, you just use the factory recomended jets and settings for the 69 250 HO, lean secondary metering rods and don't enrich the hanger.

6. When you turbo it, then just go to the 3.8 4-bbl Buick Turbo setting Allready tuned for 300 hour servival tests by GM, so you can't go wrong.
