Put my car in for paint today! :D I've put a year and a half into just the body of that car. There's pretty much not a square foot of original sheet metal except for the roof. Painted the door jambs and trunk myself yesterday. Came out pretty good considering I sprayed it outside at about 34 degrees. I did a little final wet sanding today before I took it in but the water kept freezing on the car. :?

My engine is running alright now so the buildup is kinda on the back burner since its my daily driver. I have a D3 head about 75% ported. Im gonna put 1.76 intakes and 1.44? exhaust valves in it. I also have a Cliffy 264 cam to go in it. I’ll also rebuild the engine completely. Gonna use the same Holley 5200 I’m using on the engine in the car now.

Trying to get my dad's '65 V8 Mustang back to gether so the cam can be broken in and fix the stupid p/s leaks. at the same time trying to get the engine for a '66 T-bird squared away.

And, continuing research and gathering parts for the new '65 I6 Mustang Coupe.

Is this what they mean by multi-tasking?

During Xmas break I pulled the 170 out of the Falcon along with the small bell C4 and gave it to a friend.... I cleaned and painted the engine compartment and bolted my 250 and v8 bell C4 in place... I started hooking up stuff and then found someone to do paint and bodywork on my car.... It's currently getting painted right now.

My dad also just bought a '65 Ranchero that's in the shop for new quarters and floor pans... I have to pull the doors and strip the body on it and get it ready for it's '97 Thunderbird pearlescent white paint. Too bad it's a 289, though! :D

Working on a supercharger kit that will bolt up to the OZ manifolds, trying to get a T5 swap done, and still need to install my SU trips before the next show in March.

But I keep spending all my money on parts. Have fifteen headers on order, more oil pans, timing chains, OZ heads, and a bunch of misc little stuff. I did have the cash saved, but had to put a rebuilt tranny in my truck two weeks ago. Guess the T5 will have to wait for a while.

After thats all done, I need to rebuild the 302 and get my 66 back on the road. Its been sitting for just about a year now. It was my daily driver and I sure do miss driving it.

Got the 66 with the triple offy's up and running. had the exhaust built with two Flowmaster, just need to finish doing the fine tuning of the carbs. it hink it is still running a little rich.

I go pick up the Autometer tach tonight to mount on teh sterring collumn, so what I have left is:

-Brake job, leakign brake fluid somewhere, guessing its a wheel cylinder
-New fan, trying to decide on a replacemnt to attatch to the water pump or go electric.
-finish making everythign look nice

And most importantly, to drive the car and enjoy it now that i have put so much time and work into it!

I am still saving pennies for the dual master cyl brake mods. I want to do this before the T5 conversion. I was working in Indianapolis and did see a GT/CS at a Marsh parking lot...wonder if Anlushac knows about it?

So far I have installed new 4 leaf springs. Put new Accell 8.8 plug wires on , put K@N 14-3 air filter on. Installed Hooker Super Comp Headers and 2" duals with turbo mufflers. Things I still have to do is ball joints and cut the front spring, drop the a arms 1". Still more to do but out of $$$$$. Russell

I saw it at the Marsh on Lyndhurst and Rockville Rd.....but later that weekend I did see it at the Circuit City...next to Krogers on 38th street just east of Lyndhurst..(about 2miles east of 465)..Also have you ever been to the hot rod shop on Lyndhurst near the Airport Expwy...this guy rebuilds stuff in an old garage that resembles George Barris stuff from the 60's...he's got a Falcon/Ranchero equipped with flamethrowers that he uses to pull trailers with cars from the 40's.

Just trying to get the old thing to run. Coming up on 30 years since I bought it and it hasn't run right for the last 5 or so. If I can get out from keeping the familiy's daily drivers going I'll get back to finishing the YF carb adaptation, the DSII conversion and solving my idle vibration problem and get back on the road. IF I ever get there then I'll think about head, headers,body,paint..............

Well,
I've had the subframe connectors welded up on the 80 Mustang 200/SROD. Installed a new manual rack & pinion and an 8.8 rear out of a 90 GT. Also just painted the car 1999 Dodge Durango blue.
Also, purchased a 63 Falcon 2dr with a 144/3spd. The rear quarters are rusted, but easily fixable. I love this car for its simplicity!
And finally, purchased a 1962 Econoline 144/3spd. Had one of these back in high school and wanted another ever since! Got a 1966 Econoline Heavy Duty that's wrecked with the deal. I'm transfering the 4.11 9 inch rear and suspension out of that into the other one. The wrecked one does NOT have an engine in it, but the one that WAS in it was a 240! Best thing of all......... The Falcon was purchased for 200 dollars. The 2 econolines, 400 dollars for both!
Now I'm eyeing an Econoline pick-up!

driving!! actually it is my everyday car so i usually don't fix stuff unless it breaks :) (some things i do change) sounds like you are all having a lot of fun. at least you have a warm place to work on it. our weather here is cold so when things need doing it sucks.

I'm still working (or more accurately, NOT working) on replacing the 144 in my Ranchero with a 200. I got the 200 from a friend who said he had no use for it and it might make a good project, but he wasn't sure what it came out of. Unfortunately, I am stuck on finding a carb for it. The casting numbers are C9DE-6090-M (head) and C8DE-6015-B (block). So far the only people I've talked to who seem to be able to help are Pony Carbs, but I'm hoping to spend a little less than they want. Maybe someday if I go for a restoration I'll be willing to spend that much, but right now I just want to get it running. Anyone have any suggestion on where to find a carb that will fit, at a decent price? Thanks in advance,

Don

I've been driving my car every day.

Maybe I didn't make that clear. I've been driving my car EVERY day.

I am planning to build a mild 200 with Offy 3x1 intake. I have an engine torn down in my garage and need to actually start working on it, but it's too cold to do much.

I've been very surprised at how well my car has started each day in the cold weather, though. So for now, I'm just driving the piss out of it. 8)

I'm still cranking away on my inline six powered, scratch-built Locost. The rear suspension is in, fuel tank mounted, and the steering is complete. I'm going to weld in the floors next and finish the front suspension.

chassis.jpg

The cardboard is a mockup for the dash and firewall. Just after this shot was taken I finished welding in the column supports and hooked up the steering rack.

The engine compartment looks a bit skimpy, but there are still several members yet to be added. I want to set a mock-up block in place to make sure I don't have any interference issues before I finish that off.

A buddy of mine wants to build a similar one, but he has a DOHC 2.8 liter Toyota Supra 5MGE with a W57 five speed that he wants to use.

Looks like it's coming along nicely! You've probably already answered this somewhere, but are you using the standard book chassis plans or did you increase the dimensions (either yourself or by using other plans like Jim McSorley's)? Just curious...

Jim Mcsorley lives here in Orlando only about 15 minutes away from me. We did a lot of drawing and measuring of all the Mustang junk I had and he did a set of one-off drawings to accomodate the inline engine, a T-5, and an 8" rear. It's actually working out better than his chassis, to his chagrin.
