disconnecting the choke on H/W 5200

Okay all, my choke is giving me fits. I want to disengage it (it's only like 65* here), but don't know how. If I simply reroute the water lines, it'll act like the choke is always "on." How do I get it permanently "off?"

You could always remove the butterfly from the shaft. Isn't there some kind of linkage that you could wire open? I have a hot air choke myself and it's a totally different animal. I can just adjust it so it's always open.

Okay, here's what I did: I removed the butterfly from the shaft on the primary side only. Not sure what side effects this will cause, but I'll let you know after I go to work at 2:30! If anyone has a DANGER -- ABSOLUTELY DON'T DO THAT kind of message, let me know?

I also adjusted the fast idle screw and then re-adjusted for best lean idle.
