I am looking to install a a 4.9L EFI into a 1969 kaiser Jeep 1 1/4 ton truck (M715) I was wondering if anyone had any leads on aftermarket wiring harnesses? or the other option does anyone have any real good wiring schematics. and what all the inputs that i will need to make it run well. The engine that i am using a out of a 1994 f150 with a 5sp.

thanks for all the help!!!

It depends on which computer your going to use. I presume from your post that you don't have the EEC-IV and harness from the donor. IIRC there are 2 different connection patterns for the Speed Density EEC's as well a different one for the rare MAF EEC-IV's. If you go with a '95 EEC-V you will have yet a different harness as well as several other sensors/accessories that the computer will be looking for.

building a ford harness is pretty easy. you can easily move pins on the ECU plug to modify an existing harness (just go to a yard and find a cheap harness that matchs the sensors you need, ford used a couple different styles of plugs) a little time with a wiring diagram and soldergun and you can have a harness built.

Last time I checked the MAF harness is not available through Ford anymore. I don't think the MAP one's either.

Shouldn't be a big worry to find one at the junkyard, though.

Most all Ford EFI engines, whether 8 or V6 or stratight 6 use most of the same sensors and connectors. There are a lot of places that can build a brand new harness with all new connector according to your specs.

as far as I know there are only two types of ford EFI connectors. there are some early ones that are like the older 1970's duraspark era plugs (generaly pree 1987 I think) and then there are the later ones that have the red retainer clips on them. You might run into slightly different plugs on some things (I have seen straight and 90 degree IAC plugs) but just match up what you need and you can get it to work. I would get a mass air plug and harness off some econo box that matches your air meters plug and just repin from there. sometimes there are unused wires or wires that can be moved (like deleteing AC or such if not used or wires for an auto trans on a manual trans ecu) or borrowed off a donor harness. with a halfway decent wiring diagram it should only take you a couple hours to make the change.
