how hard is it to install a carb with an electric choke?

it would be nice to convert..and I may have found a deal on a 1bbl with an electric choke.

Same install as regular except you need to run the electric choke wires to a switched 12 V source. Usually the ignition lead to the solenoid. Occasionally people mis-wire it and kill their battery, make sure it is a switched 12v source.
I've heard both good and bad about electric chokes, some say they open up too early and some say they cool down too quick and will try to choke your car when you start it warm after a brief stop.
Let us know if you do the install and how it works.
My .02 would be a manual choke cable.

I agree w/Steve about the electric choke. Gotta fuss with them a bit until you get the right compromise for adequate choke and not having it open too late or too soon. I had to fool with mine to get the right setting, sometimes moving it a fraction of an index mark at a time.

But it is nice not having to think about setting a choke for cold starts. Chaz, how much do you need one down in Miami? Seems like it should warm up quick down there, even in winter.

If you found a good deal on a carb w/choke, go for it. Give it a shot, mine works great once I got it where I wanted it.

thats my point...found a carb with one (hopefully)...so I would just hook it up
