Hello, everyone..!! I got a new ignition coil for my 215 (52 Customline) but the engine didn't seem to like it. The mechanic says it puts out too much voltage (40 000 I think ), and suggested to use electronic ignition, since it's more reliable. My question is: Is the electronic ignition really more reliable, or better ? I have read here that there is a Pertronix kit for the 223....does it work for the 215 as well ? Can you buy it online?
I tried to learn about this matter in this forum, but English is not my first language and it's hard sometimes to follow and understand some terms....so I'm sorry if I am asking questions already answered....
Thank you very much. I appreciate any help.

The Pertronix unit will help your ignition. You have a good coil to use with the Ignitor I Pertronix unit. The same one will fit the 215 and the 223 engine, but not the later engines.

Be careful when using a high performance coil with the standard Pertronix ignition module. I believe the "Ignitor I" is designed to be used with ignition coils of around 3-ohms or higher. The Pertronix website will have more information. You should buy an "Ignitor II", if it's available for the 223, since that one is designed to handle larger currents.

215 motor..most likely 6 volt system, make sure using 6 volt coil and if I can remember correctly the coil positive & negative wires are switched because of positive ground. Thats if you haven't converted it to 12 volt yet.
