Morning everyone what is the best direct fit electronic ignition for a 223 with load o matic distributor and 1904 carb
I have tried the duraspark 300 and have given up with it until I can get it recurved the car is like a slug with it fitted I just don't have the time to sort it before my trip round Germany.
So looking for something to replace the points set up
Thanks

Do you want to replace the distributor or keep it?
There are a couple of add on ignition modules that should work with your set up using the points to trigger the module. This keeps your current distributor curve and uses the points as a very low current switch.
MSD 6a
Ford TFI grey module
Mopar ignition module, although this box requires some modification to the cap or rotor due to phasing issues

This might be your solution although I prefer to use the points to trigger a box. With the very low current used in a points triggered box the points will have very little wear. The point gap in these setups is around .010 which keeps the rubbing block wear down as well.
There are quite a few on this site that use pertronix. Perhaps they will respond to this post.

Thanks that's what I'm looking for might have to use a different supplier as it looks like they don't ship to the UK .
But now I have a brand name to search looks like it has good reviews.
Will see what other brands get recommended before I order

Pertronix #1266 is for the 223 LOM and uses the stock coil. There’s a Pertronix II which has some better fault protection but I can’t seem to find the part number. I’ve had the basic version in two of my Fords for about 15 years now with no issues whatsoever.
