I just got everything finally ready to drive and when I do the engine stalls and cuts off whenever the give it a good bit of gas in gear. It runs fine in park and responds quick and never bogs down. If im in gear, I can slowly give it gas and it will run ok, but whenever I try to accelerate at a higher rpm thats when it starts to cough, sputter, and even shut off. I have a dual advance and I don't think It's hooked up right, and a new 2 barrel holley. Does it sound like a vacuum leak or something else?

8) sounds like you are not getting enough fuel through the accelerator pump, or the pump shot is too fine. try a larger pump shooter IE; go from say a 29 to a 31.

I would first double check all the ignition realted stuff--ie. timing static and advaceing (is timing advanceing when reved?) -firing order(sometimes a crossed plug wire will run great without load). cap , rotor, These are all more easily checked than things like float level -jetting-etc.
If you don't have a timing light-get one you need it. Once the ignition system is eliminated then move onto fuel.
My first suspect would be timing malfunction --either inial setting off --more likely not advancing properly.
Second suspect would be trash in carburator. You say 2bbl Holley, maybe a bit of trash clogging 1 of the jets. I recently had to take an autolite 2 bbl apart 3 times in 2 weeks for tiny specks of trash finding their way into the carb jets--not an uncommon thing especially if the fuel system has either set a while of has been worked on recently.
As i said, i like to check ign. system first as it is much easier to check as no dismantleing is needded for diagnosis.
