Exhausting Question

About time to run the exhaust on my project in sig line. Clifford dual outlet 2 1/4" header. Routing is a problem on this thing due to having a transfer case. I was thinking about a single muffler. Both Magnaflow and Flowmaster make a dual in/dual out 2 1/4" muffler. Just not sure if they are actually two seperate mufflers in one or combine inside muffler. So should I X-pipe them? I know I need to reduce down to 2" to create a bit of backpressure. How long would the tailpipes need to be to accomplish this? Dumping them out in front of rear wheels, it's a pickup style Bronco, or carrying them on out and dumping out the rear? Naturally the short runs would make for easier fitment. What would you do?

8) the dual in dual out muffler is a single muffler, just with two openings on each side. if you use this muffler you dont need an X pipe as the muffler itself acts as an X pipe. it also simplifies the system, as well as making it easy to build a true dual exhaust system. as for pipe size, i would go with 2" pipe out the back. another option would be to use a Y pipe to go from a dual outlet header to a single inlet/outlet muffler, and then use another Y pipe to split back out to a dual exhaust. check out www.classicinlines.com for more exhaust options. mike sells a few different kits.
