Does anybody have any info on 2bbl carb clearance in a falcon? I want to get a later year head and put a 2bbl on it, along with a bunch of other work done to it. Hood clearance is already tight with the carter yf that I havenow though.

Well on Kelly's '63 we have no hood clearance issues. I don't recall how much room there is between the carb hat and the hood though.
Our carb is also directly mounted on the log.

Thanks, I plan to do a direct mount when I find a suitable head.

I wonder how much difference there is between the round bodies and my 64, seems liek the 64 would have more clearance if anything.

with a direct mount there shouldn't be much clearence probs. depending on carb style-- i have a Autolite 2100 and it is almost 2" shorter than the stock 1bbl (with water port). I have the double Clifford adapter with an aotolite 2 bbl on a 62 with a low profile 4bbl aircleaner (holley hi-teck) and no clearence issues at this carb.I believe a Holley 2300 will be almost the same. of course a lot depends on how far forward the houseing extends on a round body, a sq. body ought to have a bit more room.
Good luck

Thanks, I am planning to go with either the autolite or the holley, I'm not sure yet what I want :?

One more question, will the stovebolt adapter fit the holley or autolite carbs? I may use an adapter before I get the direct mount head ready.
