Now that I have 3x1 offy setup in and running I have a few questions.
When I first started it I blocked the outer two carbs and fuel lines.
It ran a little rough which was expected with the cam I had 268/274 (110) with 1.6 roller rockers. It liked the center carb set a little bit on the rich side. The idle could be lowered to around 7k to 8k. When the outer two carbs where added to the mix and adjusted it ran great but I now can’t get the idle down below aprox 1200 rpm. All three idle adjust screws are all the way out and the carb plates are completely closed. I’m thinking that because of the cam setup it’s just sucking the air in. I’ve sprayed carb cleaner all around the base of the carbs and other places that may be a way for air to get in. I’ll get another can and give it a go. Maybe I missed a spot. I could live with that idle but it would be nice to it around 900 to 1k. Any Ideas?
Another question:
When idling I noticed a faint rattle coming fro the DUI distributor. I pulled the cap and rotor and I think I have located the source. The spring loaded advance arms seem to where the noise is coming from. If I give them a little tap they rattle around and make the same noise. Is this normal?
