i got stalled on my tripple installation due to summer honey-do's. ha,ha. however i have been collecting parts and planning all a long. i thought you might like to here what i used so far.

i ended up with three matching bases with the 1-7/16 bores. so when collecting parts for an offy setup that is a question you might ask about the carbs you are searching. i was also obsessed about having the glass bowls which look sweet.

then there are several differing bodies with varying ventura diameters. i settled on one 1-1/4 for the center and two 1-1/8, which happened to be the best balance of parts i could get together of descent parts. if had two 1-inchers i would have used a 1-1/8 in the middle.

i left the the distributor valves on the carbs but plugged the ports with the correct flared plug on all three. right now I am running manifold vacuum to a pertronics with a hardware store weak spring in the vacuum can. still neeed to look into this and the spark-plug readings.

i am running the fordsix 264/12. it is a little grumpy when it is cold and the idle is set right for my stock C-4 converter. once it warms up it is fine.
has an interesting rumble setting there at idle.

right now i am running 53 on the rear, 64 on the midlle and 51 on the front for jets. this was my guess. i do still need to do a plug read after burning at 90 for 1/4 mile or so too see if i need a shift. i have the carby's
with the two hole levers and needed the inner hole to get full stroke on the center carb. i set the end carbs to pull in at about 5/8" horizontal travel on the progressive take up rod; then let the end carby's be what they are at full throttle which is almost wide by about 15 degress short. an set the the return stops just beyond. you probably have to see it to know what i mean.

since i am running tall tires 225x75 with a 283 rear axle it is a little doggy off the light, so you got to cut the light real close.

with the brand new engine i am real pleased. only thing i am sorry about now is i didnt do a performance balance on the rotating parts. it starts to feel uncomfortable at about 4300 RPM which is probably beating it pretty hard. that is enough though to make 2nd gear fairly descent on the stock six C4. with my setup you can still reach 2nd at 65-70, sort of like cutting out an overdrive .

happy sixing frankie aka stude3
