Ford 200 belt pulley setup questions.

Hi,
I have an '80 Fairmant motor I am rebuilding to go into a '66 Mustang. The fairmont motor has the long water pump and two belt harmonic balancer. Has anyone experienced what kind of clearances can be expected from the fairmont setup (water pump, harmonic balancer, alternator) in a '66 Mustang. I know it will clear everything with no problem but I would still like to run a belt driven fan. Which fan should I use if it will clear, Fairmont or Mustang? If the clearances are tight I will just switch to the original mustang setup.

Regards,
Aaron

Aaron,

I'm running the exact setup that you are describing in my 66 Stang. I can take some pics if you want tomorrow morning.

I am running a electric pusher fan though....I can take a measurement between the pulley and the radiator to give you a idea on the clearance. I dont have the stock fan anymore or I would check myself to see what the clearance is :D :D

You probably will have to use the 66 fan. I think the Fairmont or later model fan will not work.

Later,

Doug

Hi, thanks for the offer but I'll take your word on the clearance I was just making sure there was some. If the stock fan is too long I will probably be able to change the spacer or find an appropriate fan that will work.

Best Regards,
Aaron
