I have a 1965 econoline P/U with a 200 in it and the carb seems to be not so good. I would like to upgrade to a holley or weber. Is it worth to move up to a two barrel? What carb would be the best and how would I get the best jetting specs or at least get me close? Who can i get a carb like this from?

And welcome to the Forum.

Stock your Econoline with a 200 engine would have an Autolite 1100 carb with a Spark Control Valve, designed to send a specific vacuum signal to the Load-a-matic distributor. IF you change either it is best if you can upgrade both to a compatible combination.

It might be worth your time to R & R your stock carb and distributor system, 1st to see if you can get the most from them. It sounds like your carb is ready for a rebuild and the Load-a-matic distributor system and vacuum connections can always use a good clean-up and sealing. Vacuum leaks are the most frequent culberts.

Upgrading to a Holley or Weber two barrel will either require an adapter or a modified intake log. Do you have clearance. It will also require adapting linkage, fuel lines, and air cleaner.

You might want to spend some time here reading posts from others who have been down this road.

Again, welcome and enjoy.

Adios, David
