Where does the time go????

I finally got the engine fired but, much to my chagrin, am working on basic tuning (timing, carbs and that dang'd valve lash). The carb linkage has given me fits in getting the adjustments right, but I'm now close to being done. The mechanical fuel pump wouldn't pump up & over the engine, so I had to get a small PSI Facet fuel pump to supplement it... still not sure I've solved my problem. The good news? When it's run, the headers and dual Smithy's sound AWESOME! If someone can instruct me on an easy way to get a sound clip, I'll post it once I get the final tuning sorted out.
Oh yeah, one last problem... the @$()@#! Holley 1904's are seeping around the float bowls (metal, not glass :x ). I picked up some cork gasket stock today to see if I can get more compressable material to increase the sealing (the rebuild kit paper gaskets just aren't thick or pliable enough). I've flattened the bowl & carb mounting tangs as much as I feel comfortable (too much more & I might crack them).
Anyway, good thing this isn't my current daily driver or I'd have been hoofin' it for a year now!!! I'd planned on moving to body & paint after the motor is done, but I think I'll drive it for a while (once the motor's done) and focus on getting the BB 460 going in my 63 Galaxie so it's drivable before taking the PU back off the road for body/paint.
More to follow as things progress...
