Finally.....Here are some shots of the new Aussie set up. I'm going to try to get it on the Dyno tomorrow. I ended up putting a Holley 350 instead of the 500 like I had orginally talked about. I haven't had a chance to get down on it yet to see how it performs. Let me know what you think about the K&N set up....Thanks, Michael

The last pic is of the heat shield that we made....

Michael, looks super, your attention to detail is magnificent.

Who is the manufacturer of the air cleaner housing & ducting?

I'm sure it will run as good as it looks. William

Awesome work Michael. You've chosen your mods with great attention to both aesthetics and driveability. Some may not appreciate the K&N filter setup, probably thinking "too ricer," I love it. Nice blend of classic and contemporary.

What's the clearance between your K&N and the Monte Carlo bar?

The Carb Plenum is from K&N and the intake is 3" Pipe from the Muffler shop custom made. The air filter is from Spectra.

Holley 350......

The only reason we did the K&N set up was space. I didn't like the smaller air cleaners and of course hood clearance is always an issue. The K&N Plenum is 3 1/8" tall and about 9" inches across. I wanted something that was different that gave the engine lots of room to breathe.

There is no clearance between the plenum and monte carlo bar. We ended up grinding about 1/8" inch from the side to flatten the outside edge to make the bar fit flush.

Looks simply awesome! Michael that looks like something straight out of a magazine! I do worry about vibration between the breather plenum and the monty carlo bar though.

I can see a problem here. Repeated breaching of the "gunna do/actually did" rule. Everything he's talked about, he's gone and done. Whether it's seats trimmed in matching leather, the engine buildup and dyno pull, fancy paintwork...

 Nice work.

Michael,

That is absolutely beautiful..Great attention to detail.

Great job. Good luck on the dyno test, hope it goes well

Great just what I need another one to make mine look like crap.. you and Bill, and Brian and soo many others... awesome job though, I LOVE YOUR WHOLE CAR!!!!

That looks sweet. Will the K&N "air cleaner"on my Holley equiped 250 1bbl? I was thinking I would have to fabricate something like that.

Thanks Jim

Looks GREAT! Just one thing, have you thought about fabbing up your own monte carlo bar with the bend at the airplenum instead of using a vee eight version? I think it would give it that real personal touch.
Just my opinion.
Steve
